Marcelo Worsley Named Jacobs Foundation Research Fellow
February 6, 2024
We are excited to announce that Professor Marcelo Worsley has been selected as a Jacobs Foundation Research Fellow. The fellowship supports early- and mid-career researchers who are working to advance children’s and youth learning around the world.
Worsley’s fellowship research focuses on how youth can apply data science and computer science through sports, leveraging their existing interests to develop technical skills. As director of the tiilt Lab, he partners with community and industry organizations to create equitable learning tools that meet young people where they are.
“Data is a creative superpower,” Worsley said. “Computer science can be career paths, but I’m more interested in helping youth leverage these disciplines as creative expression.”
Beyond funding, the fellowship provides networking opportunities within the Jacobs Foundation’s interdisciplinary research community, connecting scholars whose work spans education, developmental psychology, and technology.
Congratulations, Marcelo!
