technological innovations for inclusive learning & teaching

Apply to tiilt Lab

Join the Lab

We look for people who care about inclusion as much as they care about technology. Our projects span multimodal learning analytics, sports and STEM learning, accessible interfaces, and community co-design — and most of them put you in real classrooms, gyms, libraries, and makerspaces, not just in front of a terminal.

Undergraduates

Undergraduate researchers work directly on lab projects: building and testing hardware and software, helping run learning activities with youth, and analyzing multimodal data. No prior research experience is required — curiosity and reliability matter more. Use the apply button above, and contact Jacob with any questions about your application.

Prospective PhD students

Professor Worsley advises doctoral students through Northwestern's Learning Sciences (School of Education and Social Policy) and Computer Science (McCormick) PhD programs — apply to whichever best matches your background and name him in your application. Before you apply, read a couple of our recent papers and make sure the questions we ask are questions you want to spend years on. You are welcome to reach out at tiiltlab@gmail.com with a short note about your interests.

Teachers, schools, and community organizations

Much of our work happens in partnership with schools, libraries, and youth programs in Evanston and Chicago. If you would like to bring one of our curricula or tools to your community, or co-design something new with us, email tiiltlab@gmail.com — we read everything.
